(By Mitchell @ 10/10/2017 - 09:08)

Here is this week's build report. Nextcloud and ntopng both built with no issues. GNUSocial build failed because https://git.gnu.io/ is down. This is really all the news for this week.

This will be the last weekly report unless a build fails or changes.

(By Mitchell @ 10/02/2017 - 10:36)

This week ntopng, GNU Social, and Nextcloud were built today. After some investigation ntopng seems to have failed. The other builds seem fine and should work as expected.

This is build 21 of the 3 appliances and this build is mainly security updates and other misc. bug fixes (done by the original developer).

TurnKey Linux Automated Builds!

(By Mitchell @ 09/25/2017 - 14:49)

TurnKey Linux Custom Appliances are now being automatically built every Monday at ~12PM. This means that once a week you can always download the latest build of one of my custom appliances which has the freshest code you can get.

The build process was pretty simple to setup with Jenkins. Builds are also automatically updated to https://transfer.sh, which let me tell you is a pretty amazing file upload service.

If you haven't heard of ntopng, it is a web-based network traffic monitoring application. It can do many things like deep packet inspection, traffic analysis, and other cool network monitoring things.

I just released version 0.2a of my custom TKL appliance for it, so take a look at the project page here. That's all for now!

For those who have not heard about GNU/Linux, It is basically an open source kernel for computers based upon the closed source Unix. Today I would like to discuss the idea of Linux (I will be shortening it from GNU/Linux for ease of typing.) and how it can be very benificial to small and medium businesses as well as for home use.

End of August Site Report

By Mitchell @ 08/23/2017 - 11:22

This month has been a really big month for urgero.org and myself. Many optimizations came to BootWiki, which runs this site currently. These optimizations include a new Plugin system, blog plugin, and a site-wide comments & sidebar plugin. The new plugin system is working fantastic at the moment as well. No known bugs exists as of this posting, however I look for ways to optimize the code everyday so maybe I will find one, maybe not.

I also shutdown my GNU Social instance this month. Found no more use for it. I am working on getting small ads setup on the site as well, they will be non-intrusive ads so as to make some money on the side, as well as keep you all happy. Gotta pay the bills somehow! ;)

As you can see from this post, the blog system works! It's pretty basic, however it is working VERY well! I might add some more features to this plugin soon, and will be releasing it on GitHub when I feel it is more complete!
